Lidl has announced a market-leading pay increase for 28,000 hourly-paid colleagues, with new rates coming into effect in March 2025. Entry-level pay will rise to 12.75 nationally, up from 12.40 and increasing to 13.65 with length of service. Meanwhile, in London, new starters will see pay rates go up to 14.00, increasing to 14.35 over time. These new hourly rates come in ahead of the governments updated National Living Wage (NLW) in April, exceeding it by over 50p.

Following a year when Skechers generated record sales of $8.97 billion , a 12.5% increase over 2023, the footwear brand plans to continue its aggressive store expansion in 2025 by opening 180 to 200 locations. Skechers opened its 5,000 th store in Bogot, Colombia in February 2024 , at which time Skechers President Michael Greenberg said the brand was on its way to a total of 10,000 stores.

A consortium of private investors led by the current CEO and President of Southeastern Grocers Inc. , along with C&S Wholesale Grocers , has acquired Southeastern Grocers and its Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket banners. Southeastern Grocers (SEG) had been sold to Aldi in August 2023 , an acquisition that was completed in March 2024. Financial terms of the current deal were not disclosed.
