Optus set to pay $100 million in penalties for unconscionable sales tactics

Australia’s second largest telecommunications provider Optus has agreed to pay a $100 million fine for unconscionable conduct when selling its products and services to hundreds of customers. They were told by staff that they could get a new phone and a free speaker for $30 a month, and were pressured into the purchase.
