Pladis expands seasonal snacking products ahead of Christmas 2021

Snacking company Pladis has unveiled the latest seasonal additions to its McVitie’s and Flipz brands.

The McVitie’s Digestives portfolio now includes a Mince Pie flavour, available in a 243g pack retailing at £1.59.

The flavour joins existing Christmas Pudding and Gingerbread flavours.

The brand is also  rolling out a new design for its McVitie’s Seasonal Milk Chocolate Digestives (243g; £1.59).

New for the Jaffa Cakes brand is a McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Hamper (405g; £4), featuring a pouch of McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Nibbles, three McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Cake Bars, three McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Original three-packs and one McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Orange & Cranberry 10-pack.

Pladis is also launching a gingerbread flavour for its McVitie’s Milk Chocolate Digestive Slices, available in a pack of six retailing at £1, and its Flipz pretzels brand (150g; £1.50).

The company is also kicking off an on-pack promotion across the entire Flipz range, offering shoppers the chance to win a PlayStation 5 every day, along with additional prizes for runners-up.

Jonathan Bull, marketing director at Pladis, said: “This year’s seasonal snacking sales will be bigger than ever and is set to exceed last year’s £161 million incremental opportunity.

“Last year, togetherness gained a renewed importance and, given that Christmas is all about spending time with loved ones, we expect sharing products – such as our bestselling McVitie’s Victoria Assortment – along with more premium offerings to prove hugely popular.
