Tala teams up with Selfridges for its bricks-and-mortar debut

Online athleisure brand Tala is teaming up with Selfridges to take its first step into the physical world with shop-in-shops across its department stores.

Shoppers will be able to purchase the brand from all four of the luxury department store’s locations, including Selfridges Oxford Street, a branded shop in Manchester Trafford, while it will also be housed in the women’s activewear department at Manchester Exchange Square and Birmingham.

The Tala spaces, which launch 10 May, will feature bestselling collections, including DayFlex, Sculpt Seamless, Signature Sweats and 365 Sculpting Lounge.

The sustainable athleisure brand called the new partnership an “exciting new chapter, allowing the brand to engage customers in a more immersive, hands-on way than ever before”.

Tala was founded by social media influencer turned entrepenuer Grace Beverley in May 2019 and generated sales of £5.2m in less than a year of trading. It has since grown rapidly.

Beverley said: “Anyone who knows Tala knows that we – and I – are completely product-obsessed, so for customers to be able to try on their favourite Tala pieces in person is incredibly exciting, and I couldn’t think of a better place to start than Selfridges, a retailer that holds so much history within its walls.”

CEO Morgan Fowles added: “We’re very excited to be launching Tala at Selfridges. It’s a milestone moment to experience our brand in a physical retail environment for the first time, to feel and experience the quality and unique attributes of our products that set our brand apart.

“Selfridges has selected a beautiful edit of new and best-selling Tala products and will bring them to life in their exciting and unique retail environment.  Known for curating the finest and most innovative brands whilst sharing our commitment to ESG, Selfridges provides the perfect backdrop to connect with a broader audience whilst strengthening our bonds with our community.”

Selfridges buying director menswear, womenswear and childrenswear Bosse Myhr said: “It’s really important at Selfridges to nurture and platform emerging brands and so we are super excited to be working with talented entrepreneur and founder, Grace Beverley.”
