Spar retailer wins £10,000 in Site. Stock. Sell draw

Welsh retailer Matthew Jones has won £10,000 in the latest quarterly draw run by Camelot for stores selling lottery tickets.

Jones, who runs the Spar in Caersws (cor), Powys, said that he was shocked to win, partly because he did not realise that he had been entered.

He added: “I was speechless when I first heard the news, and would like to thank Camelot – it means a great deal to my family and me.

“After a tough 12 months with the store being extremely busy, we’ve not had much family time – so this means we’ll be able to have a lot more time together and some great holidays away.”

The “Site, Stock, Sell Online” draw is run by Camelot to say thanks to its retailers, who are automatically entered.

There was of total of £29,000 in the prize pot of the latest round. Besides Jones’ top prize, retailers who won £1000 each included the following:

  • Anthony Rimmer, Kellys Wines, Liverpool
  • Narotam Lalji, Walkden Premier Store, Worsley
  • Basharat Rafiq, Haji News, Rotherham
  • Joanne Fidler, The Paper Shop, York
  • Jigneshkumar Patel, Premier JK Convenience Store, Bristol
  • Vanita Wadher, The Bon Bon Newsagents, Woking
  • Suresh Savla, Davids Newsagents, London

On his £1000 win, Bhudia said: “I’m active on the National Lottery hub but I never expected to win. It’s a lot of money!

“Winning means a lot to my family and me, and after the year we’ve had, it’s needed. I can finally treat the family to something nice.”
