Clarks CEO Jonathan Ram exits after two years

Clarks chief executive Jonathan Ram has left the business after two years to “pursue other opportunities”.

The footwear retailer said it has formed an interim executive committee to lead the business until it finds a replacement.

Ram joined Clarks in April 2022 from US retailer HanesBrands, where he was the group president of global activewear since 2018.

Prior to that, he spent 16 years at New Balance where he was responsible for the Latin America, EMEA and North American businesses.

During his time at Clarks, Ram has been based in Boston, US, but spent “a lot of time” in the Clarks headquarters in Street, Somerset in the UK.

Following his departure, chairman Colin Li and other directors have formed an interim executive committee to run the retailer until a new CEO is found.

A Clarks spokesperson said: “Clarks announces that CEO Jon Ram has made a decision to leave the company to pursue other opportunities. Clarks thanks Jon for his leadership and contribution to Clarks over the last two years.

“To ensure continuity in the leadership of the company, Clarks chairman Colin Li and other directors will form an interim executive committee to lead the business, pending a new CEO appointment.”
