PrettyLittleThing promotes execs to share CEO responsibilities

PrettyLittleThing has promoted two of its executives who will now both share the responsibilities of CEO following Umar Kamani’s departure in April.

The former chief executive and founder is stepping down from his post after 12 years to pursue new challenges and “build new brands”.

The shakeup to the leadership team sees commercial director Tom Binns promoted to chief operating officer.

He will lead the fashion retailer’s product, finance, ecommerce and tech divisions, Drapers reported.

Meanwhile, Nicki Capstick has been named chief marketing officer and will manage the retailer’s brand, creative, studio and marketing.

Capstick has held several roles in the marketing team since joining in 2015 and has been PrettyLittleThing’s marketing director for the last three years.

The fast fashion retailer made headlines last week when it teased an upcoming collaboration with supermodel Naomi Campbell.

It said the exclusive collaboration would “intertwine the essence of PLT with Naomi’s unique style, promising a fashion experience like no other”.
