Nordstrom has promoted Ken Worzel to Chief Customer Officer and Jamie Nordstrom to the post of Chief Stores Officer, while Scott Meden, Chief Marketing Officer, and Geevy Thomas, President, prepare to retire. Aligning with Nordstrom’s Closer to You concept of cultivating a convenient and interconnected experience across both stores and digital platforms, the new appointments centralize customer strategy under Worzel, while store operations for Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack are consolidated under Jamie Nordstrom.

“This new leadership structure is reflective of a natural evolution that comes directly from our focus to serve customers better across all channels and banners,” said Erik Nordstrom, CEO of Nordstrom Inc. in a statement. “It also leverages the experience of two very talented leaders, Ken Worzel and Jamie Nordstrom.”

Worzel, who will report to Erik Nordstrom, will manage customer strategy across touch points and oversee digital platforms including ecommerce, digital operations, marketing, credit and the Nordy Club loyalty program. Since 2019, Worzel has served as the retailer’s COO, and previously filled the roles of EVP of Strategy and Development and CDO. Under Worzel’s direction, Nordstrom’s digital business increased to 42% of total sales during FY 2021.

In the role of CSO, Jamie Nordstrom will manage Nordstrom Rack operations strategy and execution, an expansion of his current responsibilities as President of Nordstrom stores — his role since 2014. The CSO role is the latest leadership position for Jamie Nordstrom, who has also served the company within areas such as merchandising, Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com. As CSO, Jamie Nordstrom will align store experience and operational execution with merchandising and supply chain. Jamie Nordstrom will report to Pete Nordstrom, President and Chief Brand Officer of Nordstrom.

The news of Worzel and Nordstrom’s appointments was shared by the company as it revealed that Meden and Thomas would retire. Meden spent 37 years with the company, during which time he managed general merchandising of shoes and served as the president of Nordstrom Rack and Nordstrom’s CMO.

During his 39-year Nordstrom career, Thomas managed sales growth at Nordstrom Rack leading the brand from approximately $1.4 billion to $4.8 billion.
