Construction of a new shopping centre at The Grove community in Tarneit will commence mid-next year.

Covering 167ha, The Grove – developed by Frasers Property – will comprise a mix of land, house-and-land packages and townhouses that will eventually be home to 2600 families.

Empire Properties will develop, construct and manage the new shopping centre on the site it purchased from Frasers Property in 2020.

The centre will house more than 20 retail outlets across 4000sqm, including a bakery, greengrocer, nail bar, pizza restaurant, Chemist Warehouse outlet and Anytime Fitness gym. A full-sized 4000sqm Woolworths supermarket will be the anchor tenant.

There will also be a learn-to-swim school with a 25m pool, Hungry Jacks fast food outlet, service station and a car wash, along with parking for 320 cars.

The venue has two sections divided by Bethany Rd and linked by a pedestrian crossing and reserve.

To ensure convenience, there will be buses connecting the centre with the Tarneit and Werribee railway stations.

“The Grove residents already enjoy easy access to schools, parks, playgrounds and wetlands within their community, and now the final piece of the convenience puzzle will slot into place with this new retail precinct,” said Sarah Bloom, GM development Victoria at Frasers Property Australia.

Construction of the Tarneit shopping centre is expected to take two years to complete.
