The return of the Brisbane Fashion Festival has been confirmed, scheduled for August.

This year’s event will be held in King George Square in the heart of Brisbane City from August 22 to 26.

Festival director Lindsay Bennett expects more than 2000 people will participate in three days of runway events, and many more via live streams.

“Brisbane Fashion Festival proved to be a much-longed-for celebration last year amid the challenges of the pandemic, and a wonderful example of the joy that fashion can provide,” he said.

“Seizing and expanding on the success of Brisbane Fashion Festival 2021, the 2022 Festival will continue the momentum of our successful new format within a spectacular setting, to ensure the experience is as exciting and engaging as ever.”

Tickets for last year’s event sold out within three days. It featured more than 50 designers who present more than 400 new-season outfits.

Bennett says he expects a strong line-up of Queensland and Australian designers to participate this year, both established and emerging.

The Brisbane Economic Development Agency is supporting the event.
