Neiman Marcus Promotes New Supply Chain, Technology Leaders

Neiman Marcus has promoted two new C-level executives to support its Revolutionizing Luxury Experiences growth roadmap. Amanda Martin has been named SVP, Chief Supply Chain Officer and Vijay Karthik has been named SVP, Chief Technology Officer.

In her new role, Martin will take over responsibility for all supply chain operations. She also will oversee the retailer’s photo studio and customer care divisions. She has been with Neiman Marcus for nearly five years, most recently as SVP of Supply Chain, and previously spent more than 16 years at Target in multiple roles including Regional Logistics Director.

Karthik will lead a number of tech-focused functions, including omnichannel engineering, cloud platforms, operations and reliability, with the goal of driving end-to-end customer-facing IT development and architecture. He will report to Bob Kupbens, Chief Product and Technology Officer. Karthik has been with Neiman Marcus for more than three years, most recently as VP, Omnichannel Engineering.

“We are fortunate to have such strong talent at our company that we are able to develop and promote to lead all of the critical growth work we are executing,” said Geoffroy van Raemdonck, CEO of Neiman Marcus Group in a statement. “I am confident in these leaders’ ability to drive results, the Neiman Marcus Group Way, that ladder up the substantial investments we are making in the business over the next three years.”

These investments include more than $90 million in supply chain upgrades to enhance its systems and distribution facilities, and $200 million in technology for projects including the retailer’s Connect platform, the acquisition of Stylyze and new digital labs.

The retailer also has been investing in sustainability and resale through a minority stake in resale platform Fashionphile. Other efforts on this front include partnering with Give Back Box to let customers donate items they no longer want, and joining the nonprofit Textile Exchange to promote fashion industry standards for sustainable materials.
