Canadian-born technical outdoor wear brand Arc’teryx will launch its first NSW store in Bondi Junction on Thursday (June 22), with plans to open more in the coming years.

The Bondi Junction store, the third Arc’teryx retail space in Australia, will host a series of community events in addition to displaying Arc’teryx’s gear and apparel.

According to the brand, all Arc’teryx clothes are created with ethically and sustainably sourced, hyper-durable fabrics, with free repairs provided for all outfits. The store also features Arc’teryx’s ReBird, an initiative helping to reduce environmental impact by allowing for the best product care, refurbishing pre-loved garments, and redirecting waste fabric and resources to produce brand-new goods. Every Arc’teryx order is delivered for free via carbon-neutral shipping.

“We’ve been serving the Australian outdoor community for over a decade, but the store will afford us the opportunity to connect on an even more impactful level,” said Hayden Stevens, Arc’teryx Australia marketing manager.

“Sydney has been identified as the Australian hub for the brand, and we’re excited to help our community get out there and experience the New South Wales outdoors, preserving it in the process.”

To extend this dedication to preserving the environment for future generations, the Bondi Junction store was built with a carbon-neutral design and will offer on-site repair as well as a selection of second-hand clothing, promoting a more circular economy.

In 2019, Arc’teryx opened its first Australian location in Melbourne, highlighting the area’s natural beauty while paying homage to its Canadian beginnings. The Bondi Junction store will adopt a similar strategy with a visual celebration of the NSW countryside, encouraging customers to get outside and providing them with essential clothing.

Arc’teryx said its market share in Australia has increased as a result of its market-leading goods and dedication to helping out local communities.

Last year, the brand planned to open three stores in Japan, which are in the Tokyo metropolitan area, including the districts of Harajuku, Futakotamagawa, and Yokohama.
