Shaftesbury announces the launch of the first Sunspel Womenswear pop-up in Carnaby for the winter, located on Upper James Street, Carnaby.

The British luxury brand has been handcrafting garments in the UK for over 160 years, and womenswear has become a growing part of its range over the past ten years. This will be the brand’s first stand-alone womenswear store. The store boasts a spacious 927 sq ft.

Today Sunspel womenswear is a comprehensive collection of elevated, understated essentials which offer timeless everyday elegance. The pop-up space will run through the winter months, championing the brand’s outstanding made in Scotland knitwear and loungewear, alongside iconic Sunspel staples such as the classic T-shirt – made at the brand’s own factory in Long Eaton, England, since the early 1900s.

Sunspel is renowned for its quality and expert craftmanship. Each womenswear garment is meticulously crafted by traditional artisans and specialists using the finest fabrics and yarns, from Scottish cashmere to luxurious lambswool. The resulting garments need to be felt to fully appreciate their softness and warmth.

The pop-up’s interior is created by renowned British furniture and interior designer Fred Rigby Studio, and will feature bespoke furniture and soft touches to produce an environment that reflects the Sunspel brand.

Located in historic Upper James Street, a short walk away from Oxford Circus and the world famous Carnaby Street, the pop up will run from 28 October 2021 to January 2022.

Samantha Bain-Mollison Retail Director at Shaftesbury says: “We are delighted that Sunspel has chosen Carnaby for their first standalone womenswear store. The brand is a great fit for our customer who is seeking premium product that they cannot buy on every high street”.

Joint agents Hanover Green Retail, Nash Bond and Cushman & Wakfield acted on behalf of Shaftesbury.
