Witchery joins GlamCorner amid workwear rental boom

Witchery garments will now be available for rental in GlamCorner’s subscription service.

Garments from Australian fashion brand Witchery will now be available for rental exclusively through GlamCorner’s subscription membership.

The deal is a “milestone” for the Australian fashion industry, as it continues to push to be more circular and find ways to reduce its waste footprint, according to Witchery head of marketing Nicky Rowsell.

“[We’re] delighted to be aligning with GlamCorner to provide everyday outfitting solutions and 24/7 style to their loyal customers,” Rowsell said.

“As part of our Good Business Journey, Witchery is committed to working on new and interesting ways to be more circular as a business.

“Partnering with GlamCorner to extend the lifecycle of Witchery pieces via the rental market is an exciting step forward in reducing our fashion footprint and making a positive impact to the environment we live and work in.”

The move is part of GlamCorner’s wider push to bring popular fashion staples onto its platform, having recently launched standalone rental stores for Spell, and having previously brought Country Road products to its subscription service.

And according to GlamCorner chief operating officer and co-founder Audrey Khaing-Jones, Witchery will fit in well to the service – which has seen a jump in demand for everyday essentials.

“We have seen a huge increase in workwear seperates in particular, specifically skirts, tops, suits, and coats and jackets, averaging a 200 per cent increase year on year,” said Khaing-Jones.

“Working with Witchery helps cater to the demand for more rental solutions and accelerate Aussies to a more circular fashion economy. We’ve shared 500 tonnes of clothing to date and every new partnership takes us one step closer to our goal of tackling Australia’s mounting textile waste problem.”
