Cain International (‘Cain’), the privately held investment firm, has agreed two new leases with independents at its mixed-use Islington Square development. Between them, The Bottle Cocktail Shop and Treat Medispa will take 1,400 sq ft in the north London destination as it continues to attract independent brands, with the retail and leisure space now approaching being 90% let.

A new concept from Homeboy, the award-winning brand behind cocktail bars in Islington and Battersea, The Bottle Cocktail Shop has taken a 714 sq ft unit. Following the success of its online store and listings on Amazon, The Bottle Cocktail Shop will offer a mixed-use retail and F&B concept, led by its range of ten bottled cocktails, with a focus on providing a first-class customer experience.

Meanwhile, following the resounding success of its debut salon in Islington Square, Treat Medispa, a specialist skincare beauty salon clinic, has relocated to a larger 671 sq ft unit. Combining state-of-the-art technology with tried and tested techniques at reasonable cost, Treat Medispa provides an extensive range of treatments for body and facial aesthetic needs that are structured to deliver short and long-term results.

Cain’s mixed-use Islington Square provides shopping, dining, leisure, homes and workspace in one of London’s most famous cosmopolitan communities. A neighbourhood retailing destination as well as a dining hotspot, Islington Square is home to notable names such as Anthropologie, Borough Kitchen, Arlo & Jacob, APC and Duck & Dry, restaurants including Sproot, Megan’s, Jiji, Prezzo and Omnom, and leisure schemes such as a Third Space health club and an ODEON Luxe & Dine cinema. Cain also recently announced that New Meta, a new gaming concept, will launch its first physical site in Islington Square.

Neil Barber, Retail Leasing Director at Cain International, said: “These new lettings are the latest in a long line over the past 18 months for Islington Square, despite headwinds caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s a testament to our strategy of appealing to both the local demographic and visitors from further afield that brands like The Bottle Cocktail Shop, as well as New Meta, are launching their first physical spaces here and that those like Treat Medispa are upsizing. Innovative brands like Treat Medispa and The Bottle Cocktail Shop certainly provide our residents and visitors with something new and special, which is exactly what all our partners at Islington Square offer. Having already proven their popularity in Islington, we are delighted these independents will continue to grow their success with us.”

Ciaran Smith, Co-Founder at The Bottle Cocktail Shop, said: “As the debut for our newest concept, Islington Square will deliver a new experience to our London customers by bringing the bar straight to the comfort of their home. By also having a bar serving a curated cocktail menu seven days a week, we hope it will become the perfect place for guests to unwind. We want our guests’ experience to be as easy and enjoyable as possible, catering to all.”

Vaishali Patel, Director at Treat Medispa, said: “We are proud to continue our journey at Islington Square. We now have a bigger space to meet our growing customer base, so that more can come and enjoy our bit of heaven in the assurance that our exceptional team of skilled and experienced therapists are on hand for all their body and facial aesthetic needs. We are excited to have our new site in which we can develop our concept further, and the vibrant environment of Islington Square is the perfect location to do so.”
