TikTok is looking to add nearly 1,000 engineers at its Mountain View, CA, office at a time when other major tech companies are laying off workers. “We have always been more cautious in terms of recruitment,” said TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew. “At this stage of our growth, I think that our pace, our cadence, of hiring is just right for us.”
