Signet Jewelers says fewer couples are buying engagement rings

Signet Jewelers, the parent company of jewelry retailers including Jared and Zales, has seen a significant decline in engagement ring sales since the beginning of the pandemic. Jamie Singleton, Signet Jewelers’ president and chief consumer officer, said an eight percent increase in dating is a sign of a rebound to come. Americans, on average, get engaged after dating for 3.25 years, according to the nation’s largest jeweler.
