Jennifer Bates, an employee and union organizer at an Amazon.com warehouse in Bessemer, AL, has been reinstated to her job after she appealed her firing. Amazon reversed its decision after determining that although Ms. Bates had not submitted requested information upon returning to work following an injury, the company could have been clearer about the information it asked for. Amazon spokesperson Mary Kate Paradis said that reversal was part of a standard process at the company. “Ms. Bates had the opportunity to, and did, appeal her termination.
