Retailers warned against “complacency” as cyberattacks continue

Singapore-based online marketplace Carousell has become the latest retail business to suffer a cyberattack, after a database of its user accounts was stolen and listed for sale on the dark web for S$1,000, according to a report by the Straits Times.  The company confirmed the data breach earlier this month, explaining that a bug had been introduced during a system migration and used by a third party to gain unauthorised access to 1.95 million user accounts.
