Shutdowns in China, labor shortages and lack of access to supplies such as cotton, plastic and rayon have complicated the manufacturing process for tampons and led to a shortage of specific brands such as Procter & Gamble’s Tampax product. “Capacity is only going to get tighter as we move toward the end of the year,” said Vaughn Moore, CEO of AIT Worldwide Logistics. “It’s a really challenging time.”
