Seneca Foods Announces Thanksgiving Recall of Mislabeled Hy-Vee Turkey Gravy

The FDA released a warning about how Seneca Foods Corporation, one of America’s finest food processing companies, has recently issued a voluntary Thanksgiving recall. The company is retracting its Hy-Vee Turkey Gravy, packed in 12 oz glass jars, due to a mislabeling issue. Unbeknownst to consumers, the jars contain beef gravy instead of the expected turkey gravy which potentially contains a soy allergen, undeclared on the label.
As a company known for its commitment to quality and safety, Seneca initiated this recall purely as a precautionary measure. The main concern lies with individuals who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy as they run the risk of a severe or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The official statement from Seneca Foods clarified that they are not aware of any reports of consumer illness related to this product. The recall is focused on retrieving the improperly labeled Hy-Vee Turkey Gravy from the company’s distribution system.
The recall is strictly limited to the Hy-Vee Turkey Gravy product sold by Hy-Vee, and no other retailers are affected by this issue. The specific details regarding the affected products are as follows:
