Unions say U.S. labor rule violate international law

The AFL-CIO, SEIU, and Workers Unite unions have filed a complaint with the United Nations’ International Labour Organization’s Committee on Freedom of Association, arguing that U.S. law does not protect workers’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining. The result is that companies such as Starbucks continue to engage in union-busting activity. The coffee giant maintains that it is operating within the law despite having been found to have acted illegally in several cases.
