Walmart Express Delivery to Dominate Amazon Once and For All
Walmart and Amazon have been neck-to-neck in their rivalry to be at the top of the e-commerce world. Over the last decade, Walmart has been transforming its website into a third-party marketplace platform to the likes of Amazon’s service.
Walmart express delivery has been on the rise since the pandemic, and free fast shipping is being offered as part of their Walmart+ membership, in the same vein as Amazon Prime.
At the end of May, Walmart unveiled their new Arkansas-based market fulfillment center built within one of their stores that revolutionizes digitized logistics thanks to their new Alphabot system.
Finally, the retailer reports that Walmart express delivery has become the go-to choice of checkout, along with in-store pickup, when it comes to consumer shopping, now outweighing the standard store shopping experience. This further supports the idea of brand-new and unique experiences being necessary for the future of retail.
