Ikea Australia has launched a two-week festival inspiring people to explore their creativity and inventiveness at home.

The global festival runs from August 26 to September 10 and takes place both online and in-store. Ikea stores across the country will host free live workshops, events and activities including ‘Interior Design Speed Dating’, indoor plant workshops, plant-based cooking demos, expert talks, food tastings and store treasure hunts.

Sydney has been chosen as one of the global host cities for the Ikea Festival, alongside Tokyo, Paris, New York and Stockholm.

Georgia Gardiner, Life at Home Specialist for Ikea Australia, said the Ikea Festival shines a spotlight on real-life creators and innovators from Australia and all around the world “to re-ignite that spark and show how Ikea can help unleash those dreams for our life at home and turn them into ‘doing’”.

Ikea will live stream from Sydney on September 3 offering viewers a “glimpse” into the Australian life at home featuring tips from Sam Evans on small space van living, Liz Mui on sustainable plant-based eating, and live music set on Sydney Harbour.
