Walmart is implementing changes to its hourly starting wage structure for entry-level store workers in an effort to manage costs in a slowing job market. The alteration means that various store positions, including cashiers, personal shoppers, and stockers, will now have the same starting wages based on the store’s location. However, higher-skilled roles like deli, auto center, and bakery workers will continue to receive higher starting wages, according to Walmart spokesperson Anne Hatfield.
