FDA says lab-grown chicken is safe to eat

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says that cultivated chicken, AKA lab-grown chicken, made by Good Meat Inc. is safe to eat. “We have no questions at this time regarding Good Meat’s conclusion that foods comprised of or containing cultured chicken cell material… are as safe as comparable foods produced by other methods,” the FDA said in a letter to the company. Good Meat currently sells its chicken to consumers in Singapore. It plans to begin selling its meat in U.S. restaurants.
