Amazon suspends warehouse employees over work stoppage

Amazon.com suspended 50 workers with pay at a warehouse in Staten Island, NY, after a fire broke out at the facility. The workers, who are part of the only Amazon warehouse that has unionized, said that they did not feel safe going back to work after a fire broke out in a trash compactor machine, leaving the building smelling of smoke. Amazon said that workers had a right to protest but not in active workspaces within the warehouse.
