Sanity Entertainment to close all physical stores, trade only online

Entertainment and music retailer Sanity is set to close all 50 of its physical stores by April 30, taking its business entirely online. Founded in 1980 by Australian businessman and former chairman of BB Retail Capital, Brett Blundy, the company sold vinyl records, DVDs, cassette tapes, hardware and other accessories pertaining to music. It was purchased by Ray Itaoui in 2013 despite the “challenging” entertainment landscape.

Shopify expands service to target retail giants

E-commerce platform Shopify says it is expanding its business to target large-format retailers, with toy giant Mattel among its first global customers for all of its brands, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Fisher-Price. Shopify calls its expanded service a composable stack for enterprise retailers called Commerce Components by Shopify (CCS). The service offers enterprises no rate limits thus allowing brands to integrate their existing systems with Shopify’s modular components.
