Walmart’s delivery platform, Spark, has faced challenges as drivers on the platform report an increasing number of individuals posing under multiple names to grab more orders. While Walmart has tripled its delivery-driver workforce on Spark over the past year, this issue of identity misuse is impacting both drivers and customers’ safety. To address this problem, Walmart is introducing a facial-recognition and ID-scan system within the next month to verify driver identities and prevent fraudulent activities amidst concerns about customers’ safety and the integrity of the platform.
