Taking place on 20 January, a fun morning of activity was available for everyone to enjoy with prizes to win from the Spar spinning wheel, and product samples and giveaways from Browning’s and Snappy Shopper.

All Crosshouse Hospital staff also received 25% off Cook vouchers which were redeemable at Spar Crosshouse.

Spar’s national charity partner Marie Curie also provided valuable information about its products and services.

In addition, Spar Scotland also donated £1,000 to the hospital for its endowment fund, which was “extremely well received by staff.”

Russel Morrison, area manager for Spar Scotland, said: “We are very proud of our Spar store in Crosshouse and since reopening last summer, we are very grateful for the support our neighbours in the locality have given us.

“This event at Crosshouse Hospital is a way of us saying thank you to the staff who visit our store between shifts and we look forward to working with the team in the future.”

Yvonne Gormley, Business Manager at Crosshouse Hospital, said: “It was great to have staff from our local Spar store on site.

“The girls were lovely and provided many delicious treats which were thoroughly enjoyed by staff, patients and visitors.  A great initiative from a local business that was very much appreciated.”

Following a major refurbishment last year, Spar Crosshouse offers local residents of the village in East Ayrshire a vast array of products and services. It employs 23 local people and has been serving the local community for over 30 years.
