Lowe’s Rehired an Employee It Fired After She Tried To Stop a Group of Shoplifters, Getting Punched in the Face 3 Times in the Process

Lowe’s has rehired an employee it previously fired after she attempted to stop suspected shoplifters at one of its stores in Rincon, Georgia. The 13-year employee, Donna Hansbrough, was assaulted by one of the suspects during her attempt to prevent them from leaving with stolen merchandise, resulting in a black eye. Lowe’s initially fired Hansbrough for violating company policy, which discourages employees from intervening in theft situations, but later reinstated her job after senior management became aware of the incident and spoke with her.
