Amazon settles Ring and Alexa privacy invasion suits for $30 million+

Amazon.com has agreed to pay more than $30 million to settle two federal lawsuits that claim the company’s Alexa voice assistant and Ring doorbell violated users’ rights to privacy. The Federal Trade Commission brought the suit against Amazon. “While we disagree with the FTC’s claims regarding both Alexa and Ring, and deny violating the law, these settlements put these matters behind us,” said Amazon in a statement.
