Australians return to the malls despite a plunge in consumer confidence

Australians are returning to shopping malls as Covid fears subside with Scentre Group reporting customer visitations up 12 per cent on 2021 levels during the first quarter. In an operational update filed with the ASZ, Scentre Group CEO Peter Allen said the mall operator saw “a significant increase in sales for our business partners, above pre-pandemic levels”.

Nikos Property Group has bought Perron Group’s 50-per-cent interest in the Colonnades Shopping Centre in Adelaide for $138.2 million. The other half of the regional shopping centre is owned by Vicinity Centres which currently manages 86,554 sqm of the hub. . The 14.3-hectare complex is located 26 km south of Adelaide CBD. Inflation inched up in April
