Moving closer to its goal of opening 100 stores during fiscal 2023, Ross Stores opened 18 Ross Dress for Less and nine dd’s Discounts stores across 14 states in June and July. The value retailer now operates 2,061 stores in 41 states, the District of Columbia and Guam.
“These recent openings reflect our ongoing plans to continue building our presence in both existing and newer markets,” said Gregg McGillis, Group EVP, Property Development at Ross Stores in a statement. “This summer, Ross Dress for Less opened its inaugural six stores in Michigan, and dd’s expanded its presence in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. Looking ahead, we remain confident in our ability to grow to at least 2,900 Ross Dress for Less and 700 dd’s Discounts locations over time.”
This would be the second year in a row that Ross has added at least 100 stores while maintaining the same proportion of the Ross and dd’s banners. The retailer’s fiscal year ends in January 2024.
