Klarna Acquires Shoppable Content Provider to Expand its Capabilities

Klarna has acquired Toplooks and integrated the solution provider’s AI-powered shoppable content engine into its platform. The acquisition was made to enable a wide variety of shoppable content in native formats on retailers’ own digital properties, through the Klarna ecosystem and across social channels.

These capabilities will complement Klarna’s comparison shopping services (CSS), available through Semtail/Shoptail, another recent Klarna acquisition. The CCS software helps retailers list their Google Product Listings Ads more efficiently.

“The fundamentals of commerce are forever changed as more consumers forgo traditional retail store shopping for omnichannel commerce,” said Sebastian Siemiatkowski, CEO of Klarna in a statement. “Now more than ever it’s important for retailers to create fresh, engaging and curated experiences to drive engagement and unlock growth with customers.”
