Dunkin’ Names New CMO

Former Coca-Cola Exec Rafael Acevedo will begin in his new role immediately.

Dunkin’ has named Rafael Acevedo as its new Chief Marketing Officer effective immediately, according to AdWeek. The position has been vacant since 2019 when then CMO Tony Weisman left the company.

Previously, Acevedo worked as the VP of Marketing for Coca-Cola North America and was also the General Manager of the brand’s tea offerings; he’s credited with overseeing the 2018 relaunch of the Diet Coke brand.

Reporting to Scott Murphy, Inspire Brand’s head of beverage and snack division as well as President of Dunkin’, Acevedo will lead field marketing as well as digital marketing and product advertising and innovation.

Murphy said in a company press release: “Rafael is a highly-experienced, talented, strong business leader with a proven track record of building and modernizing the world’s most iconic and beloved beverage brands. With his extensive brand transformation experience, consumer-centric approach to marketing, and ability to build and inspire teams, we’re confident that he will propel Dunkin’ to the next level.”
