Gibson, the iconic global instrument brand, will open a new Gibson Garage flagship store in historic London, just off Oxford Street, on February 24, 2024. It will be the second store of its kind, with the first stationed in Nashville, Tenn.

Gibson Garage is designed to be the “ultimate guitar experience and destination” for music lovers. The UK store will have 4,500 square feet of retail space and be designed with local flourishes and “uniquely British cultural discoveries.” The store will highlight Gibson’s 130-year history and distinct influence on music culture by including a combination of branded apparel, accessories, gifts, lifestyle items and accessories.

Customers also will be able to browse (and play) more than 300 electric and acoustic guitars across Gibson, Gibson Custom, Gibson Acoustic, Epiphone, and Kramer brands, as well as the entire collection of Maestro pedals. By visiting the Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab, customers will be able to design their own “made-to-measure” guitars based on their unique needs and preferences.

“London was an obvious choice for our second location, given it’s one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world with a highly influential and vibrant musical ecosystem,” said Cesar Gueikian, President and CEO of Gibson Brands in a statement. “The Gibson Garage is how we want our fans to experience Gibson; an immersive dream space where fans walk in and say, ‘Wow, this is the place that Gibson should have always had!”

Gueikian noted that the new Garage location is meant to be “part of the London music community.” To accomplish this, Gibson has added a live stage on the lower level where it will host weekly live performances, showcases, and panel discussions featuring musicians and artists. The store also touts Gibson Gallery, a bi-annual revolving gallery wall, which will celebrate the photography and art of British artists and musicians. The inaugural exhibit at the Gibson Gallery will debut with an exclusive collection by photographer Gered Mankowitz, who has snapped portraits of The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Kate Bush, Elton John, Oasis, and other legendary artists.
