Children’s goods retailer Toys ‘R’ Us has partnered with British retailer WHSmith to open nine high-street stores across the country.

The partnership – led by the Australian-listed Toys ‘R’ Us company – follows last year’s launch of Toys’R’ Us UK e-commerce website which sells a broad assortment of toys and products.

The new stores will feature dedicated sections by age, interest and category with interactive experiences along with a key range of products and activities from top toys brands such as Barbie, Bluey, Hot Wheels, Lego, Marvel, Fisher Price, Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Playmobil and Star Wars.

A life-size Geoffrey the Giraffe 3D sculpture will welcome customers to the store, offering a family photo opportunity.

Sean Toal, MD at WHSmith High Street, said the retailer is always exploring new opportunities to launch new product ranges to customers on the high street.

“The brand has long been known for its exceptional range of toys and games and complements our existing offer well.”

Simon Cartey, UK commercial director at Toys’R’Us, said the collaboration provides convenient access to a wide range of toys and games through the high street shopping scene.

The first Toys ‘R’ Us store opens on June 10 at WHSmith Monks Cross Retail Park with a further eight openings planned for this year.
