The brand said it sees sustainability not only as reducing environmental impact, but also about the health and wellbeing of consumers.

It has removed 480 tonnes of sugar per year since 2008, meaning that 100% of its products are now HFSS-compliant.

Yazoo Kids has a unique no added sugar or artificial sweeteners recipe. The brand is also part of the ‘Better Health Food Scanner App’ campaign, with all flavours, including the recently approved chocolate variety, holding the ‘Good Choice’ badge – making it easier for parents to make healthier choices for their children. All the cocoa used in Yazoo Kids Chocolate is also Rainforest Alliance approved.

Dairy drinks is a category that shows resilience in difficult times, up 15.3% in value from this time last year and, according to IRI research, retaining shoppers even as other categories see an increase in switching to own label.

Maren Fuhrich, brand manager at FrieslandCampina, said: “Planet-first products are of ever-increasing importance to consumers and retailers alike. A recent study found that 65% of the population believe that food and nutrition brands need to do more to protect the planet, a number that is only set to grow in the coming years.

“Sustainability is a key focus for us at FrieslandCampina so we’re proud to introduce the new eco-friendly cardboard carton packaging this autumn – another step along the road in our ambition to make 100% of our packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025, whilst also providing healthy nutrition to a growing population.

Yazoo Kids is available in Chocolate, Strawberry and Banana flavours (x3/x6 multipacks) across grocery, convenience and wholesale.
