Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh Offer Unlimited Deliveries for $10 a Month

April 24, 2024

Amazon has unveiled a new program that allows customers of both Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh to receive unlimited grocery delivery for just $10 per month.

According to CNET, the service — originally launched as a test pilot in three stores in December 2023 — has now been implemented in over 3,500 cities and may be purchased by any Amazon Prime member. Subscribers with registered SNAP or EBT cards can get $5 off.

Customers of Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh can also receive deliveries from other specialty retailers like Cardenas Markets, Rite Aid, Pet Food Express, and Mission Wine & Spirits in addition to receiving free unlimited deliveries on all orders of $35 or more from both Amazon-owned markets.

What’s more, customers can take advantage of free one-hour delivery windows and free unlimited 30-minute pickup on all orders with no minimum purchase amount. Recurrent reservations are also available to subscribers, which makes it an ideal choice for professionals who are constantly on the go and need consistent grocery delivery.

That being said, the chain’s new subscription program is optional. If a customer does not have a delivery subscription, they should budget $10 for deliveries under $50 and $7 for deliveries between $50 and $100 at Amazon Fresh. Over $100 deliveries are still free.

Customers of Whole Foods, on the other hand, will still be charged $10 for deliveries of any kind, regardless of the order, and will receive an extra charge for deliveries within one hour.

Whole Foods has been evolving since 2016 to serve a larger clientele.

Last month, the specialty food behemoth revealed plans to open smaller stores, called The Daily Shop, to serve clients who live in cities. With intentions to spread to other cities around the country, the first of these new Whole Foods Market Daily Shop stores will make its debut in New York City later this year.

At 7,000 to 14,000 square feet, as opposed to the usual 40,000 square feet, these new stores will be a small portion of the size of regular Whole Foods locations. In addition to fruit, meat, fish, bread, wine, supplements, and Whole Foods private-label products, they will also provide a variety of grab-and-go meals, snacks, and necessities. All goods will meet Whole Foods’ quality requirements and will exclude additives like high fructose corn syrup.
