Retailers try to curtail returns

Return rates in 2022 were about 14 percent higher than the year and some retailers are taking a carrot-or-stick approach to reduce the amount of unwanted merchandise they have to process. Amazon.com is warning consumers about products with high return rates and offers free returns on items dropped at preferred locations. Others including H&M and Zara are adding return fees.
