Mytheresa saw sales rise more than 60 percent last year versus 2019 as consumers shopped from the online luxury goods platform’s extensive selection. The site’s active customer base has grown by 38 percent this year and demand from the U.S. market has increased substantially. The Mytheresa business model has proven successful. It fulfills orders with inventory held by the brand with Mytheresa collecting a fee on every purchase. The company has become more profitable in recent years as it has cut customer acquisition costs by focusing on those shoppers with “a high lifetime value,” according to CEO Michael Kliger.
