Uniqlo has expanded its Australian footprint, opening a new brick-and-mortar store in Adelaide’s Myer Centre.

The new store, with 900sqm of floor space, will open on November 24 and provide a full line of Uniqlo life wear clothes for men, women, children, and newborns. It has 11 fitting rooms for customers and five self-checkout stations to improve the shopping experience.

“The Uniqlo Adelaide store team are looking forward to meeting locals, providing world-class customer service and helping them with our iconic LifeWear products – simple, high-quality, everyday clothing thought through with life’s needs in mind, and accessible for everyone,” said Kensuke Suwa, CEO of Uniqlo Australia.

The Adelaide store marks Uniqlo’s 30th store after debuting in Australia in 2014. The Japanese retail giant is expanding its footprint into other markets including the US, Europe, China, South Korea and Singapore. Uniqlo announced the opening of its first physical pop-up store in Poland in August.

In October, Uniqlo’s parent Fast Retailing recorded a record annual profit despite a slump in China sales. International operations drove growth, with the North America segment moving into the black and revenue from the region going up in value when repatriated into yen, which has been trading around a 24-year low against the dollar.
