Family retailer Matalan has worked in partnership with children’s charity NSPCC since 2004, already raising over £11million for the charity. In continued support, and to help towards Matalan’s next fundraising pledge of £1million in 3 years, Matalan has launched a fun slogan childrenswear pyjama set, available to shop online at Matalan.co.uk, via the app and in stores across the UK.
The exclusive pyjama set will be available from May, in the lead up to NSPCC’S national flagship day ‘Childhood Day’ on Friday 9th June, which helps to fundraise and raise awareness of the charity’s aim to keep children safe. Funds raised by the campaign will continue to support the fantastic work the NSPCC do to support children across the UK and in Merseyside from their Liverpool hub at the Hargreaves Centre.
As well as supporting families, children and communities across the region, the funds will also benefit the charity’s Liverpool Childline base, ensuring the free service is available whenever children and young people in Merseyside and across the UK need support or advice.
The Matalan pyjama range features a fun animal print design for 2023 with slogans such as ‘FUN’, ‘HAPPY’ and ‘SMILE’ and is available in ages 9-12 months up to age 4-5. Costing £6-£7, sales will help to raise vital funds for the charity with 100% of the profits going directly to the NSPCC.
Emma Crossland, Matalan HR director, said: “Here at Matalan, we are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC with our next product range ahead of Childhood Day on Friday 9th June! We are so proud of our longstanding partnership with the NSPCC, already raising over £11million through our various fundraising events. We are immensely grateful to all our colleagues and customers who have supported and continue to help raise vital funds for this fantastic cause.”
Jo Burton, corporate partnerships manager, said Matalan’s support for Childhood Day would help raise awareness of how big a difference the public can make, with every £10 raised helping the NSPCC Helpline answer more contacts about children at risk.
Burton said: “We are so thankful to colleagues and customers at Matalan for their ongoing support enabling us to continue to be here for children.
“We’re excited to be working with Matalan once again as part of the Childhood Day. Their support year on year means that we are there for children and young people in Liverpool, and beyond, through funding of Childline and our Liverpool hub.”
