Gander offers a real-time, automated mobile platform that helps the stores sell more close-to-expiry date, discounted food products. Dee Bee Wholesale retailers will adapt Gander’s onboarding model by easily integrating it into Today’s stores’ EPOS system Re-Scan.

The mobile app enables retailers to automatically display to shoppers, in real-time, all reduced-to-clear food on their shelves. The app sends personalised notification alerts to shoppers, ensuring they are among the first to know about reduced-price local stock.

John Heagney, non-executive consultant for DeeBee, said: “Having implemented Gander into all of the company-owned Today’s convenience store network, it has become very quickly apparent that the benefits are far-reaching. Gander helps us to lower our food waste by giving customers visibility of reduced items through a very good app and therefore helping to minimise waste.”

Co-founder of Gander, Ashley Osborne, added: “We really look forward to extending this benefit out to Today’s network of stores and to work with Dee Bee Wholesale who are exceptionally pro-active in their approach to solutions that help reduce food waste across their brands.”

Gander is available for consumers to download via the Apple and Android app stores.
