Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) has announced its plan to open a semi-automated fulfillment center in Lebanon, Tennessee, according to a company press release. It will be roughly 925,000 square feet and employ up to 300 full-time workers. The facility will combine Artificial Intelligence (AI) software, automated robots and associates working together to ship orders.

Once an order is placed online, automated robots search and retrieve products from a compact storage system and bring them to associates to be packed and shipped.

David Guggina, Senior VP, Automation and Innovation for Walmart, says, “We’re thrilled to be bringing a new high-tech fulfillment center to the community of Lebanon. This facility will include game changing automation technology that’s radically disrupting the supply chain, improving the customer experience and saving time for associates.”

The fulfillment center is currently hiring full-time workers and looking to fill leadership positions like Human Resource Manager, General Manager and more.
