Pinga has 600 London-based drivers and riders and 5,000 customers, so the acquisition will help Beelivery grow significantly in the capital.

Beelivery was incorporated in 2015 and claims an average delivery time of 46 minutes with 21% of deliveries in less than 25 minutes.

Its model is to connect independent drivers with customers who need last-minute groceries. The driver personally shops for the customer and then delivers their shopping.

The firm has had multi-million investment from Greenbank Capital and claims to have increased sales by 140% since the start of the pandemic.

Beelivery joint chief executive and co-founder Yazan Bin Mohammad said: “This acquisition enables Beelivery to leverage the driver capacity and loyal customers of Pinga in central London and extend our lead in this competitive market.

“The company is now exploring further merger and acquisition deals, and in particular we are now open towards further strategic alignment with our closest competitors.”
