The wholesaler said it is now making more than 21,000 sandwiches a day at its purpose-built distribution centre in Preston.

Peter Dodding, sales and marketing director, said: “We are very proud to produce high-quality and tasty sandwiches and we are thrilled to have reached this 60 million sandwich milestone with plans for sales and growth building momentum.

“We have had a great strategy and like everyone else, we have navigated our way through the pandemic. We are in a great place that is far ahead of what we could have imagined.”

James Hall is a Lancashire-based family business, serving a network of more than 600 independent and company-owned Spar stores across the north of England, six days a week.
